"A-ha" Moment
Have you ever sat in church and heard the same verse, sermon or saying that you've heard 30 times before? But this time.....you got it....A-ha....It's like a light bulb just clicked on and you really SEE what he just said. Well, I had an A-ha moment at church this past Sunday. Pastor Jerry was preaching on peace. He read Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I have heard and used that verse a million times. It reminds me of the song we sang as kids....."I've got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart, where?..down in my heart". I get what that means (A-ha moment)and actually felt it this week. I was swirling around everything in my head (money, moving, schools, packing, time limits, how to do everything) and then it hit me .......STOP and PRAY. Pastor Jerry said "ask for peace like a child". What he means is.....just like when your child wants.. let's say a puppy...she doesn't ask once. She keeps on bugging you until you say yes. That's how we should ask God for things. (Another A-ha moment). So, I kept asking for peace, arguing my case, and quoting where He said I could have peace. IT WORKED!!!! In the midst of panic ,I had total peace. I accomplished alot. Now I know I can have peace ,but I can also get sidetracked, which unfortunately I do alot. But I'm working on asking for Peace everyday, all day. I now realize how important it is. Just wanted to share this moment with you. Peace to you all. Christy
